Who is Joanne Lam?

I specialize in helping people increase strength, physically and mentally, through fitness. My name is Joanne and I’m here to help you achieve your fitness goals. My personal fitness journey began at the age of 8 when I started playing basketball – except I had no idea it would become a goal of mine to help others such as yourself achieve goals you’ve thought were impossible.

As a former basketball and rugby athlete throughout high school, I focused on by simply playing the sport itself. Through university, I began to acquire more knowledge for the necessity & benefit of strength and conditioning for sustainable long term performance.

I led athletes of my collegiate quidditch team through weekly strength sessions in the gym and saw not only improvements in the game, but also improved mental strength that carried over to various aspects of their life.

That’s when I realized I wanted to be a fitness coach to help as many of you as possible to gain strength in all aspects of your lives, starting with the physical. With or without fitness equipment, from the comforts of your own home, we can get started on your journey of strength.

Confidence – Are you confident in your ability to accomplish the hard stuff?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then we’re READY to get started. Commitment and consistency will lead to confidence. Increase confidence will lead to higher consistency and commitment.

I’ve been working with Joanne privately now for eight months – I loathe routine and the fact that she manages to engage me session after unpredictable session and hold my interest is rather shocking. This has allowed for consistency which is bringing the results that I could only hope for–not to mention the cross-over to other areas of my life is everything to me (and others are taking notice!). Most important to me in any athletic partnership, however, is an advanced knowledge of exercise mechanics. Joanne’s skill level stimulates my “body brain” which makes the hard work more interesting–which in turn makes the hard work more mentally fun! In every session, I feel like I’m reaping the benefits of the enthusiasm she has for her own constant learning.

Joanne is an amazing Coach. She really focuses on making you improve, you will definitely see results if you stick to her classes. She is very conscious to any injuries or limitations you may have, she will offer substituted workout and stretches to cater to those areas. When I just got back into working out Joanne made me feel comfortable and helped me through movements I never thought my body could achieve.
