Who is Alan Warner?

The origin story of Atlas Alliance is deeply personal. This is why it is a lifelong mission. The reason why I want athletes to be stronger for their sport and be able to withstand the forces and high velocities encountered in their sport is due to my own personal experience as a national water polo athlete, where during a practice I sustained a herniated disc (non-contact) as a goalkeeper likely because strength and mobility was lacking for the force I was able to produce.

My doctors didn’t believe I could do this to myself without a collision or contact, but that is the nature of the sport. At 18, there was no greater goal than representing my country – I pushed through – not recommended, but I had a goal and that was all I was about. There wasn’t an elevator to it – sometimes you have to take the stairs.

As soon as our national season was over for Barbados, I went to physiotherapy which for me was both useful and frustrating. I was told to stop playing water polo with the current injury or likely undergo back surgery or I could go do strength training rehab with physiotherapy, while not playing water polo to resolve the disc herniation.

Since this experience, I have pursued strength training in all forms to help me perform at a higher level in my sport – resulting in no back pain in more than 15 years.

Alan is an incredible coach! His vast knowledge base and passion for his craft is evident with each session. He combines his expertise and systematic assessment with your desired goals to devise an individualized program with specific desired outcomes. He has a meticulous eye for technical deviations and has quickly identified some of my most subtle imbalances. From my very first session he has made me more aware cognitively and kinesthetically of my physical potential and I’m consistently amazed at how great my body feels since I started working with him. He is someone I would close my eyes and refer to anyone who is serious about making changes in their fitness and strength training life.”


The place that I feel most comfortable (after the pool) is the weight room. Definitely from everything I learned from Alan and his attention to detail and technique.
